The Edge of No Escape

It is always darkest just before the Day dawneth.
-Thomas Fuller

Just when Lisa gave up on life, her luck started to change, and escape looked possible. Then, just like that, it ran out again. Things don't look good. The zombies are monsters, and they're everywhere, but she's not dead yet.

If Kaveh is anything anymore, he's a sign that life is unpredictable. There are always exceptions. As this whole story draws towards its conclusion, the possibilities of escape become narrower and narrower, but what if there was still a way out of this mess? Think about it. Lisa has a gun, and Kaveh and Speedy are right there. More people could have made it out alive in the confusion of the last chapter's fighting. Things can always get worse on the one hand, given what just happened to Lisa, but on the other hand, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

On second thought, in this entire book, when has anything worked out for the best? Together again, Lisa and Kaveh have slightly different views on her impending mortality in the new chapter, coming soon, The Death Row Chef.
